I am a blogger (check out my other blog at The Gift Detecive) and I tried to take a workshop online. The workshop was supposed to be a five week class with conference calls, forums, e-books, homework and forums. The leader was so ill prepared and the participants of the workshop so dissatisfied that the workshop folded after just two and a half weeks. I was so disappointed that this had not been what I hoped for that I had to search for the positives out of the situation. I learned a valuable lesson about taking online workshops but, more importantly, I also connected with the other participants of this workshop. Looking around at this online group I realized that maybe none of us were experts (yet!) but we all had strengths in certain areas that could help each other grow and create better blogs if we continued to connect online, hence the birth of this site and its (soon to be) forums.
